Amiri Clothing Deals Amiri Los Angeles

The Skel-Top: The House Signature Sneaker

Most luxury labels keep a shoe they hope turns into a signature, and almost none of them say it out loud. AMIRI says it out loud. The brand’s own copy for the Skel Top Low calls it the house signature sneaker with skel leather applique and perforated detailing, which settles an argument that writing about amiri sneakers keeps having. Neither the newest silhouette in the range nor, at an observed $650, the most expensive pair the house sells. What it is instead is the shoe that carries the motif running through every other category the label makes. The hyphen belongs in the name, and the model belongs apart from the court silhouettes that take half of it. What follows is a single-product story, since this product earns the space.

Bones, Cut by Hand and Ringed in Thread

The Skel-Top is a low-cut basketball silhouette built on a two-tone rubber sole. Leather and suede panels make the upper, and the official material line states one hundred per cent leather above a rubber sole. The skeleton appliques that name the model are hand-cut and then outlined in contrast topstitching, so the bones sit proud of the panel instead of printing flat onto it. Perforated detailing runs across the forefoot and quarter, the one clear nod to the athletic shoes the design descends from. Subtle it is not, and it was never meant to be. In the hand, though, it reads as a leather good rather than a graphic, and the topstitching is the reason. That one construction choice sets it apart from the wide field of skeleton-print sneakers that came after.

  • Panelled leather and suede upper over a moulded two-tone rubber sole
  • Contrast topstitching outlining hand-cut bone appliques
  • Perforated detailing amiri sneakers across the forefoot and quarter panels
  • A sibling in canvas on a court last, sold under an entirely different model name

Made in Vietnam, Which Is the Correct Answer

On official product pages the Skel Top Low’s country of origin reads Vietnam. Having read that this is a Los Angeles house, some buyers take that line as a warning sign, which is a wrong call. Style by style the origin changes, and that pattern is consistent enough to actually use. Made in the USA are the MX1 jean, the Stack jean and the MA Core Logo Hoodie, while the MA Core Logo Tee is made in Italy and the Skel Top Low and Skel Court Hi are made in Vietnam. The blanket claim that everything the label produces is made in Los Angeles is false, and repeating it will lead you to reject genuine footwear. Flipped around, the same fact turns into a useful check, since a Skel-Top stamped made in the USA is the anomaly and a Vietnamese one is not. Most authentication guides pass over this in favour of stitch counts.

The Price Moved, and Old Articles Did Not

Every figure below is an observed market price taken from 2026 listings rather than an official price list, and such figures move. Through the brand’s own channel the Skel Top Low is observed at $650, and at an authorised multi-brand stockist at roughly $615. Records on resale platforms give original retail as $590 for an August 2020 release, which means the model has drifted about sixty dollars in six years. That matters, because a great deal of published writing still quotes $590 as the current figure. For context the canvas Skel Court Hi sits at an observed $690 and the MA-1 sneaker at $799, which puts the signature model below the ceiling. Discounting is structural rather than exceptional, with authorised multi-brand retailers visibly cutting amiri shoes and amiri clothing by forty to seventy per cent in season. Writing that suggests the house never marks down is describing some other brand entirely.

The Skel-Top and the Skel Court Are Not the Same Shoe

Four models get merged in careless writing, and separating them takes one paragraph. The Skel Top Low is the leather basketball silhouette, observed at $650, and the only one the house itself labels its signature. The Skel Court is a retro court shoe with a cotton canvas upper carrying the same bone appliques, sold high and low, observed at $690 for the high. On that same court chassis, Stars Court runs a constellation of star appliques in place of bones, refreshed in new colours for Pre-Spring 2026, and no original release year is on record. The MA-1 is a sneaker, observed at $799, with the confusion driven entirely by naming, as MA-1 is separately the generic military designation for a bomber jacket that dozens of brands use. Here the MA prefix is the founder’s initials, fronting sub-lines including MA Bar, MA Core, MA Quad, MA Fit and MA Skyline. Any source that calls the MA-1 a jacket should be treated as unreliable throughout.

Sizing, and Rounding to the Nearest Whole Size

Men’s pages carry official European sizing, from 40 to 48. What buyers report about the Skel Top Low is unusually consistent, and the word they use is true to size. Guidance from the brand says to take your normal size and round half sizes to the nearest whole one, and following that to the letter pays off. Do not extrapolate the result across the rest of the footwear line, since no consistent buyer reporting was found for the MA-1, the Stars Court or the long-running Bone Runner. Because the house publishes no full measurements for every style, none of the above amounts to an official fit chart. Between sizes and buying unseen, choose a channel with a workable returns policy instead of guessing.

The Variants Carrying the Same Name

The Skel-Top is a platform rather than a single item, and its variants follow the same logic as the denim. Treatments are layered over the model rather than replacing it, which is why a Crystal Skel-Top Low remains a Skel-Top with embellishment added. The embellished versions sit at the top of the price band, just as crystal and stud work does elsewhere in the line. There is a women’s cut, which arrived after womenswear launched in 2021, since this was a menswear-first house rather than a dual-gender one from the start. Core colourways stay in production, which is precisely why they do not command sustained premiums on resale platforms. Observation suggests limited colourways and heavily worked pieces hold value better than staples, and none of that is investment advice.

The Spec Sheet, Plus the Step Most Guides Skip

The style codes are structured, not random, and internal consistency with the model and its colour is what to expect. The Skel Top Low runs a code in the format AMFOSR1110-001 and the Skel Court Hi AMFOSR1149-001, close enough to reward careful reading. Elsewhere the MX1 jean uses a format like PXMD001-018 and the MA Core Logo Hoodie AMJYHD1050-001, so the prefixes track the category. Material descriptions carry the same specificity, since the MX1 names ovine leather as its contrast instead of an unspecified leather. Care language is distinctive too, since core denim carries an explicit warning about intentional shading variation and is spot-clean only. The table gathers what official pages say about the shoe, keeping observed prices separate from anything published as policy.

Where a Genuine Pair Comes From

There is one official online channel, the brand’s own site, alongside roughly thirty-three of its own boutiques. Anything else should be on the house’s published stockists list, which includes Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Bergdorf Goodman, Maxfield, Selfridges, Harrods, Mr Porter, SSENSE and Mytheresa among many others. Maintenance of that list is imperfect, with a retailer that closed in 2024 still on it and several names misspelled, which makes it a floor rather than a guarantee. No official outlet exists, and the house said so in a federal complaint filed in July 2021 against a provider hosting a counterfeit site styled as one. A storefront calling itself an official discount store for the label is, by definition, not the label. Only products bought through its own channels get verified, and only against an invoice, while anything bought elsewhere the house declines to authenticate. For amiri men shopping the secondary market, provenance beats micro-detail every time.
